'The Refugee' is going to be the last U2 cover the Glasgow band will release.
December made a name for themselves by putting out unique covers of U2 songs. Although this policy earned them loads of new followers, the Glasgow band now announce their final U2 cover. Their version of 1983's 'The Refugee', taken from U2's third album War, will be released on November 6.
The trio are currently working with LA filmmaker BK Garceau III who also directed the video for 'The Refugee'. Highlighting the international refugee crisis, the visuals particularly showcase the acute problems ongoing at the US border over the issue.
Paul, guitarist with December, said, "It's arguable that War was the greatest album of the '80s – when you think about the songs on it. When the rest of the charts in the early '80s were arguably totally self absorbed, U2 released this album full of protest and bravery – and amazing songs which have never been more relevant."

"We have been playing 'The Refugee' live for a few year's now", he adds. "It felt like the right song to release to end our project of trying to reinvent some U2 classics. We spent years saying you should never cover U2 but hey, we ended up doing it and it's been a joy."
December released their last album, Sister and Brothers, with original material in 2018.
